I am living in western ghats mountains of India, almost in its eastern side in a table land called Marayoor. It is my second home and my office is at Cochin. To marrow I am going to a shola- high altitude cloud forest or tropical montane forest. It is termed as living fossil- and scientists said that these forests are 70 million years old. There are many spore producers and primitive plants like mausa nettle and Nilgiri nettele are there. The most amazing old world plant is the golden tree ferns. These ferns are here in this land from Jurasic period or more. This is my 28th visit to sholas in the western ghats. I will get back to you with photos and videos soon..
